Well, after a bit of research I found out the reason for the zombie glitch is because that particular series of functions that allow objects to move around solid objects (motion planning) is not present in Game Maker HTML5 or Studio.
Asking at the official GM forums, I have been told that there are currently no plans to enable this for HTML5 games, but the option should still be present for other platforms.
Mother. Fucker. I haven’t felt so disappointed in a long time.
This was my best character yet. He was capable of surviving the Godlands, having killed 37 gods himself. A total of 2960 monsters had died by my hand, and I had seen over a half a million tiles of the land. RIP NecroPlan, we had fun.
This of course, is nothing compared to some people’s characters, but after putting so much effort into him, it just makes me sad to lose it.
Remember how I said I was making a really bad game? Well, I’m still doing it!
I’ve had to start from scratch, but it’s meant simplifying things and taking a different approach. Now instead of using the arrow keys to move, and ctrl to shoot, you aim and shoot with the mouse. Movement is still done using the arrow keys, but I’m going to eventually add the option to switch between those and WSAD.
Right now the major bug bothering me is that zombies will stick to gravestones and sometimes to each other. This seems to be a problem in the new versions of Game Maker, but I’m looking for a work around.
In other news, HEY YOU CAN PLAY THIS THING. Not sure why you’d want to, it’s terrible. If you can’t already gather, it’s in it’s early stages. I’m still working on it, but I wanted to test publishing and uploading it. Let me know what you think of it, yall.
This has me interested in trying out some Portal 2 mapmaking when it’s released in a little over a week. Using Hammer was always rather difficult and time consuming, so this easy to use editor should make things far more enjoyable.
I have nothing. I’m busy nerding out and trying to fix my old outdated Yu-Gi-Oh! card deck, and I just finished my second ten hour shift in two days. So, yeah. Forgive me.
Lately, I’ve been playing lots of Realm of the Mad God, a co-op fantasy mmo shooter that has recently seen itself added to the Free To Play list on Steam. It’s fairly addictive. When I get time, I’ll probably write a post thing on it. For now, all I can say is that you really need to get it and play it; it’s amazing (Also free, and only 39MB to download.).
One day there was a big explosion. I ran out to investigate but I decided to eat a meat pie. It was dark brown and mushy on the inside. I took one bite and it suddenly disappeared! To my astonishment, it had fusted with my hand! I thus became Pie Man! As Pie Man, all the bitches loved me. This became apparent when he discovered a pie was lodged up his anus. “Oh my,” he exclaimed, “My poor virgin butthole.” Also he turned into a gay vampire.
“A GAY VAMPIRE!?” Gay Vampire Pie Man yelled as he watched his gay vampire hands sparkle in the sunlight. “Fuck now we are speaking in third person!” I said to no one in particular, suddenly switching to a first person view. “I’m getting dizzy,” I murmured to myself, before collapsing into a chair. The pie felt warm in my ass, and reminded me very much of that warm summers day when daddy touched me. I began to shiver from top to bottom, when a large man burst through the door, almost blowing it off it’s hinges. Rolling over to me, he spoke in a booming voice. “I’m coming for you boy!” He yelled, “You’re a wizard Pie Man!” and he grabbed Gay Vampire Pie Man with his fat puffy fingers. However Pie Man was far too quick, nimble and meaty, dodging the fat man before him.
“Morbidly Obese Man, my old nemesis. We meet again.”
“Let’s go all over the ass!”
Both men spun around at the mention of ass to behold the new comer, whom surprised them to the point of peeing their pants. “I think the story has shifted again,” I shout at the new comer.
This is what eventuates when you leave a notebook on the coffee table of a house of friends. Over the course of about a week, someone would randomly continue the story a few sentences at a time. I thought the result was fairly funny.
