I had never really known there was a Google Chrome Webstore where you can buy applications and games and the like that I assume only work in that browser. However, I was made aware of a rather fun little game that for today is free, called Onslaught! Arena.
The basis is simple; you are a gladiator in an arena, and you fight increasingly difficult swarms of enemies. Movement is with the WASD keys, and you aim and fire with the mouse. To assist in fighting the enemies, you collect a variety of powerups from your fallen foes ranging from spears, axes and apparently fire.
The art style is simple and gives a nice nostalgic feel, and while the game can get hectic when you have 10 different types of creature attacking you, it is never messy.
If I’d of known about the webstore and the game earlier, I’d of gladly handed over the two dollars it costs for the game. If you like cheap simple games, I suggest giving this a go.
The game, by Lost Decade Games, is available here, and for free to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
