I honestly had no idea how to react to this posting “milestone”. It came without warning, and with a stifled giggle, has been screen capped and posted here for my enjoyment. I have a particular love for making posts of silly milestones, as per my Twitter posts, so anyone who has glimpsed my blog in the past should of expected this.
Also, this is the most posts I’ve ever done on a blog; which I take as a good sign that I’m going to be able to stick with this in the long term.

The other day, I bought the eBook 31 Days To Build A Better Blog, and it has given me plenty of ideas, and helped me lots in my blogging.
I love blogging, but often, in particular on my other blog WolfingTime, I have trouble coming up with new content. This results in either long gaps in my posts, or a complete loss of interest, which happened to a few of my other blogging endeavours. I’ve been determined to not let that happen again, but it’s hard. I’ve been reading other blogs to get ideas and helpful tips on blogging. The most helpful site of which I’ve come across is Problogger, which I coincidently came upon just after the start of a blogging program where every day the author posted a new task. These tasks allowed those involved in the program, or just the casual reader, to improve their blog with strategic exercises, and instructions on types of blog posts to make.
Reading it, I found many ideas that were completely unique to me, including an entire post on going shopping to improve your blog; despite being unusual, that was informative and quite a brilliant idea.
To top off how well done the program was, Darren Rowse made the entire thing available in the form of a professional looking 31DBBB eBook. Buying it set me back roughly twenty dollars, but it’s so far been worth it. It’s given me a reference for blogging that I can do in my own time; which in the case of WolfingTime is one post a week. It’s amazing because it even has several ways to get past writers block; which is evil.
As a final addition, Problogger encourages buyers to subscribe to an email newsletter which sends additional tasks for the program as time goes on, a nice little touch which keeps the 31DBBB fresh.
Being obsessed with blogs, it’s definitely a good cheap read for me, and it’s definitely worth plenty more than what it’s being sold for. I’m really happy I bought it.

Today as a bit of fun I decided to write a small series of reviews of blogs that I read. Sounds simple enough, so I made it interesting for myself; and posted them on Twitter. One blog per tweet, thus meaning I had less than 140 characters to work with. I had the tweets done already, and had them scheduled roughly 30 minutes apart using the handy TweetLater service since I had to work during the time I planned to do this.
So, tweeted blog reviews where the tweet had to be short enough to fit both a URL and the #blog140 hashtag? Here’s the results, in order from first to last tweeted:
Today I’m going to point out some blogs I found that were well worth the read, either because they were funny as, or rather informative. |
We’ll call it “Blog140″, because I have less than 140 characters to describe each blog. This should be fun for me at least :D #blog140 |

And that’s the end of #blog140…FOR NOW. Hope I exposed to you to a new site or two, if you bothered following the links anyway… |
It was a fun experiment; if you saw this, what did you think? Did you end up clicking any of the links? Did you do so now that they’re posted here? And does anyone know an easier way to display a list of tweets besides copying each one into a table?

On The Blog:
-
Gay. –a rather misled opinional about the word gay, that could of best been summed up by the following tweet by
@bonsushi, “@
betterwords gay is also not a synonym for homosexual. it is now, but it used to only mean happy. words change. get used to it.” Of course, the post was made to continue the discussion with @bettwords, who, as you can guess, bailed due to overwhelming hate for his cause.
-
nin:access – One of my favourite posts I have ever written, about the new official Nine Inch Nails application in the iTunes app store.
-
The High End Of Low – Marilyn Manson – This article keeps getting hits because people are desperately searching for that fabled complete link of the album. It’s also another of my favourites.
-
-
LOL Energy Drink – I had the most fun ever making this article about a really bad drink.
(Not So) On The Blog:

Well, it’s been 4 months of semi-regular posting on this blog (slightly longer if you include the previous incarnation of the blog), so I thought it was time to ask some questions for anyone who reads it. It’s just a simple “what do you think” questionnaire. The blog is nice, but I’m always open to criticism and comments. I’ve always been of the school of thought that the only way you’ll get it is if you seek it. So here we are. If you would could comment some answers, I will lick a car battery, or something (look at number five :P)
-
What would you classify the blog as? I’d call it personal, but I throw in reviews and all sorts of random stuff as it occurs to me. What do you think it’s about and what “genre” would you say it is?
-
What do you think of the layout? This was a simple layout that included extremely simple insertion of Adsense (waste of time?), and looked okay to me. Do you think it suits the theme (or lack of) for the blog? Any ideas of what would look better?
-
Full posts or cut up posts? Alot of blogs make their posts on the front page merely “previews”, with a clickable “more” button to see the rest of the post. While I simple display the complete posts, do you reckon it’d be better to keep going with that, or try only displaying the beginning of posts?
-
Do you have a favourite post? Simple one. Why do you like it?
-
For doing this, what do you want me to do? Lets say that, for doing this, I ask that you challenge me to do something. Something silly, stupid, serious, whatever. I’ll post evidence depending on what it is (as in photo, written, or video, something) for your viewing pleasure as proof I did it. It can be anything as long as it isn’t explicit or something that can get me arrested.
So yeah. I’m just hoping someone comes up with something interesting for number five. I do enjoy being a complete idiot.
