I failed

by ZombieSkittles on October 2, 2009

After less than 48 hours off computers I found myself using it again, if only to install and try Dropbox (which is made of awesome, thanks for asking). So obviously this whole computer-less adventure was a great big failure. Disappointed as I am, I came back to learn a few random things had happened:

  • Britt has suddenly made the venture into vlogging, which is awesome. Also HOLY CRAP!
  • SocialVibe is changing it’s look and some of the rules, which is awesome.
  • Craig’s mum is good in bed, which is awesome.
  • I am awesome, which is awesome.
  • I’m watching the second season of How I Met Your Mother season 2 (finally), which is awesome.
  • Awesome awesome awesome, awesome mcawesome-some.

100+1

by ZombieSkittles on July 30, 2009

So I just realized last post was the big one hundred. I’d planned to write a semi reflective piece, be full of myself, and link to a few of my favourite posts. However, I’ll have to do that for number one hundred and one, aka THIS POST.

So I’ve hit more posts on this blog than I’ve ever had in any of my other failed ventures. I’ve become über happy with my ability to commit to something, even if it is as simple as what is essentially an online journal. The fact that it’s been almost seven months and I haven’t tired of it shows that I’m changing in some way for the better. If I can stick with anything for that period of time no matter how stupid it is, I’m sure it’s a step in the right direction.

I’ve loved writing for ages, and this has been a fun outlet for myself, and I’m glad that you, and anyone for that matter, have actually read and responded to even a few of my posts. It means a lot, and I look forward to more in the future.

Here’s some of my favourite posts from this time, for various reasons.

  • Paranoia Induced Insomnia – probably the first truly personal post I’d written for the blog. Wasn’t fun, but it felt good to write it out.
  • I AM NOT! – I was a little insulted that Google Adsense decided to target gay dating advertisements to my site, so I wrote a post complaining about it. Of course, I used the word several times so it pretty much ensured the gay references stayed in the ads longer.
  • Colourful (My CD Collection) – A very pretty display of (the majority) of my cd collection of the time.
  • I post – One of those simple posts you’d probably find as the contents of a myspace chain bulletin, but I enjoyed making it, and reading the responses a couple of others made.
  • I HAVE BEEN CALLED OUT. – My friend decided to invite me to join him in doing the 100 Pushups and 200  Situps programs, to which I decided to accept by writing this post. Was hilarious fun. Of course, I didn’t make it past week 3, though neither did he.
  • Marilyn Manson – The High End Of Low – The first review I’ve written and been super proud of.
  • The world’s coolest shoes – C’mon, they’re the worlds coolest shoes. They HAD to get featured here.
  • Try Youtube in Chrome, for absolutely NOTHING NEW! – A bitchy post over nothing, but I enjoyed it thoroughly, and as I found in Rubenerd’s blog, I’m not the only one annoyed by such tactics.
  • Brüno – I wasted ten dollars to just watch Borat again, but with an Austrian accent and too much penis. Now you’ve read that sentence, you’ve basically read that blog post. Move along.
  • Squishy Pink Balls – I’m rocking SocialVibe, and wrote a much better post about it that my last one (which I refuse to link to). Plus I love that photo (sans bags-under-eyes)

And that’s that part done; here’s to another meaningless hundred posts! Who knows what’ll happen between now and then? I DON’T. And if I did, I wouldn’t tell you. Also, Aly still has homosexual tendencies and is extremely small compared to other less height impaired individuals.
