Raptr decided to assess my gaming stats and compare them to “average Raptr users”. Finding out I have almost 2500% more achievements (25 times more?) on PC is pretty astounding.

I decided to make a trip down to Marion today, to check out the Gametraders store they have there. The journey involved fumbling around at the train station trying to work out which of the four platforms my train would be on, and then nervously walking down Morphett Road wondering if I was heading in the right direction.
Eventually I got there, and after wandering around, I found the shop. Inside was a marvellous place, full of games and merchandise spanning decades of consoles. I was astounded by the prices, which were higher than even Cash Converters (Which are renowned for buying cheap and selling expensive). Super Nintendo games –which are up to twenty years old– were selling for forty dollars. I understand that you’re charging for demand, but seriously that is a lot.
I eventually got to the Gameboy section, and saw exactly what I was hoping to see; Pokemon Blue, Yellow, and some GBA SP’s. Naturally, I bought them all. I even got the old Pokemon Pinball to give a spin.
This is part nostalgia, part loving the Pokemon games, and part regret. When I was a kid I worked hard on Pokemon Blue to get all 151 Pokemon. I was really proud of the achievement, actually getting one hundred percent completion in the game. But then I lost the game. I had no idea where it went, and I regret being so irresponsible with it. I consider getting this copy a chance at redemption.
I loaded up the games and found save files from the previous owners. The Blue save file was typical stuff, eight badges and some levelled legendaries. Yellow was much more amazing; same stuff, but the previous owner had a mew. Mew is a Pokemon you cannot get in the original games (Without glitching the game). It was only available through Nintendo Promotional Events, which of course were limited to back when the games were released. The fact that I now possess one makes me giggly; it’s my favourite Pokemon.
Dear diary, it was the best day ever, the end.

I just had my longest match of Super MNC yet. We lost, but put up a good fight.

After 82 hours of gameplay, and almost 150 matches, I’ve finally hit a positive Win:Loss ratio in Super Monday Night Combat. I like to think that it’s a good sign that I’ve improved as a player.
Either that, or all the other players on my team have improved and I am merely riding their waves of success.
Though, I guess I don’t mind whichever way really, I’m having fun regardless.

I love Super Monday Night Combat, but it sucks how hard it is to get a game going sometimes. While there’ll be an influx of new players who are terrible, at least games should be easier to find.

The lovely Britt made me something cool, using her beading stuffs. I love The Binding of Isaac (I have over 140 hours in the fucking game), and this Isaac looks amazing.
Thanks babe.

Fourth time lucky, I guess. It was a heated match, but thankfully we managed to get the Annihilator both times it was available, and some Jackbots to help us bring it home.

Each time I’ve played I’ve tried to use a new character, to see what each is like. For this match I used the Mascot guy (Second from the right in the back), and he was pretty unique. His primary attack fires fake coins that explode, and he has the ability to vampire health from others. Made for a different style of gameplay to the other characters I’ve played as so far.

I was thinking the other day, how nice it would be to be able to play the original Pokemon generations on my 3DS. Sure, I could buy a second hand Gameboy and cartridges and go down that route, but for me, an official port would be an excellent reason to throw some money at Nintendo. I’m sure I’m not alone in that train of thought.
If Nintendo released Pokemon Red and Blue on 3DS, and maybe charged $10, they’d see a return of thousands and thousands of dollars. Hell, I’d buy them.
