At midnight tonight, I stop using my computer for an entire 7 days. I’m a little worried, since I can’t think of a single day where I don’t use it to some capacity. It’s kind of scary.
To restate what I said earlier this week, I’m going without any real use of my computer from the 1st of October until the 8th. The idea being that with this week I’ll be forced to find other avenues of entertainment, and maybe do the stuff I’m always putting off.
To be clear, I will continue using my phone, and the computer will be turned on so I can plug it in to charge. Blame Apple for not giving me a wall charger.
So this is going to be my final blog post for the next week by the looks of it. There will be two instances where I’ll still be using the internet from my phone; Twitter of course, and I might use my phone sometime in the week to post an update on this week via Tumblr, if something interesting happens to warrant it. Apart from that, my section of the cyber world will be quiet.
I hope everyone else has a great week, see you on the other side.

I’ve decided that from October 1st until October 8th, I’m going to do something I haven’t done in forever, and spend a week without using my computer, as a way to force myself to do other things.
This means, no games, no Windows Live Messenger, no blogging; pretty much no internet in general. The only time my computer will be on will be to charge up my iPhone or iPod. Apart from that, it will be off and I’ll be investing my time elsewhere (or at least that’s the plan).
The idea is that when I do this I’ll be forced to do things like go outside. I plan to finally go geocaching during this time period, and maybe get a proper exercise system going without this glowing screen distracting me. I recognize that it’s mostly my fault, but I can never get myself motivated when I could easily sit here reading articles and playing Facebook games.
Plans for that week:
-
Finally fully clean my room.
-
Go geocaching.
-
Start planning my novel for NaNoWriMo.
-
Get some sort of pattern happening exercise wise.
-
Maybe plan some more efficient saving than what I currently do.
-
Catch up with friends I don’t see enough.
There’s probably some more that I’ll try to do, but that seems the main part. Has anyone else gone so far as to cut off internet/computer completely to try and get other things done? How’d that work out for you?
Oh, and as an extra bit, I just want to throw out there that I will still be on Twitter; that’s the joy of having an iPhone.
